Long weekend at Shangri La Mactan Island
Shangri La Mactan Island is quite an impressive resort and arguably the most lavish of all the resorts across Cebu.
The hotel, which spans across several acres offers 4 outstanding restaurants as well as plenty of other great facilities: A 6-hole golf course, 2 large outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped kids pool and play area, a marine sanctuary, a stunning private beach and cove, a wide range of water sports, a comprehensive spa and over 500 comfortable rooms.
Prices start at around 14’000 peso (£200) per night, depending on the season.
Shangri La Mactan
Although, this resort is still some way off the Shangri La on Boracay Island it is still a fantastic hotel to visit.
All your needs are well catered for and you feel very well taken care of.
On the first day, we had an almost constant stream of beach side waiters bringing us drinks, snacks & food and should you want anything else. There is plenty of staff on hand ready to help.
We also had a complete foot spa directly on the beach; massage too…
The beach itself is pure fine white sand and the beach front actually boasts its own private coral reef where with just a simple snorkel you can see hundreds of exotic fish and sea life. The exotic fish are well used to human companions, swimming right up to you and circling your every move.
Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island
Jet Skiing was a particular pleasure as the shores that surround the hotel are truly world class. We cruised over to the Movenpick Hotel which is about half a mile down the shore and saw a range of other resorts and beaches in the other direction.
Whether you’re a couple looking for a nice relaxing weekend together or a family with children looking for some quality family bonding, Shangri La Mactan has pretty much everything for everyone.
We highly recommend a visit.
