There is no doubt that the Tottenham had a great season through the 2015/16 campaign but, actually it ended up being a little bit of a disappointment.
Spurs could have done so much better.
It was all going so well…
With 10 games to go, Tottenham had a genuine chance of winning the Premier League title, were in the last 16 of the FA Cup and the last 16 of the UEFA Cup.
So, how did Spurs end up, only finishing 3rd in the Premier League and crashing out of both cups at the last 16 stage?
Following a series of quality performances, in particular from Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker and the ever consistent Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld things were looking promising. However, Tottenham’s young team started the wobble under the pressure towards the end of April 2015.
After crushing Manchester United 3-0, followed by the demolition of Stoke City 4-0, it all went wrong.
Spurs failed to win in any of their last 4 games, were humbled 5-1 by Newcastle on the last day of the season and torn apart in both the last 16 of the FA Cup and UEFA Cup.
It was not all bad news; Spurs ended the season 3rd in the premier league, their highest ever position in the top flight.
It was a great learning curve for the young Spurs team, fantastic experience and all steps in the right direction.
Tottenham Hotspurs New Arrivals
In the latest transfer window, Mauricio Pochettino has made two solid signings, bringing in Victor Wanyama from Southampton for a reported £11Million and Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar for just over £17Million.
Tottenham look to have a diverse and extremely talented squad for the 2016/17 season and should be looking to compete for the title again.
As any Spurs fan knows, it is not easy supporting Tottenham Hotspurs. There is always great promise, great players but usually a lack of consistency.
Lets hope this is not the case for the upcoming season.
Our prediction; Tottenham Hotspurs will finish 3rd in the Premier League and will win a domestic cup.
